Understanding can be used for good or ill, and may be a necessary prerequisite to “changing someone’s mind” in a way that’s grounded in reality. Or aligning their will with your own, or possibly even aligning your own will with theirs if you find their own reasons compelling. It’s not about strength at all, it’s about the direction your will is aimed, and your reasons for wanting to do something are what determine that direction, and understanding someone’s reasons is the first step to possibly using or altering them. This could also be an interesting, possibly even compelling avenue for Jim and Friends to explore.) For example, a real “battle of wills” isn’t where people scowl and grunt at each other in a mental arm-wrestling match – I don’t think “strength of will” is actually even a thing. The PS3 had the legacy of its predecessors to fall back on, a sizable number of exclusive titles, and it doubled as a comparatively inexpensive Blu-ray player, but in 2007 it was the highest priced system, had inferior versions of multiplatform games, had no rumble support, and it had a worse online infrastructure compared to the X360, though its online component was free. ![]() In terms of price, it was somewhere between the Wii and PS3. The X360 had a robust library of games due to being on the market longer, but the Red Ring of Death was a massive problem (more on that later). However, the potential of motion controls to deliver a better experience was uncertain at the time, and it suffered in the graphics department, which was much more noticeable back then when compared with the HD consoles of its time. The Wii promised innovative new experiences with an unconventional controller at a cheap price point. The Wii, PS3, and X360 all had noticeable benefits and shortcomings. ![]() Your choice of console in 2007 was a lot harder to determine compared to now. ![]()
